The funeral of Dorothy I. Hillary, 64, rural Melvin, who died Tuesday 10-29-1985, will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church Anchor, the Rev. Melvin Blobaum officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 9 p.m. today at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, and an hour before the service Friday at the church.

Mrs. Hillary was born 4-24-1921 in Sibley, a daughter of Thomas and Sophie Boettger Christensen. She married Dale E. Hillary 12-10-1940 in Melvin. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Donald of Downs; a daughter, Beverly J. Rueck, Melvin; a brother Floyd Christensen, Waterloo, Wis.; and four grandsons.

Five brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Hillary worked for Nichols Homeshield in Chatsworth for 18 years, retiring in 1984. She was a resident of the Melvin and Sibley area all of her life.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor, the Dorcas Society of the church, Ford County Homemakers Extension and Melvin Women's Club. She was a former 4-H leader in the Melvin area.

In the 1950's she joined Mary Richardson Stein in reactivating the Busy Bees Girl's 4-H club in Sibley and continued to lead it for many years. Several of 'her girls' went to State Fair with their projects.
