Ronald Edward Burgess, 56, of Maysville, died Aug. 4, 2001 as the result of a drowning accident while fishing in the South Branch of the Potomac River, two miles north of Moorefield.

Born Sept. 5, 1944, in Maysville, he was the son of Ethel (Mongold) Burgess of Petersburg, and the late Charles Burgess.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sandra (Kisamore) Burgess; one stepson, Tim Lahman of Arthur; four sisters, Frances Hinton and Goldie Berg, both of Maysville, Lois Jean Cloer of Union Grove, N.C., and Judy Kimble of Lahmansville; and twin brother, Donald Burgess of Maysville.

Funeral services were Aug. 10, at the Maysville Bible Brethren Church, with interment in Lahmansville Cemetery, Lahmansville.
