Abram Deuel was born in 1822 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania.
In 1863, Abram was living in Saratoga, New York at the age of 42.
His name is listed on the US Civil War Draft Registration Records in Eighteenth Congressional District, consisting of counties of Saratoga, Schenectady, Montgomery, Fulton and Hamilton; State of New York, enumerated during the month of June 1863, under direction of Captain J. P. Butler, Provost Marshal
During the same year, he was enlisted in the military on December 24, 1863 in Rochester New York. He mustered in on February 2, 1864 as a Private for the US Army Civil War 22nd N.Y. Cavalry ¡V Fought for the Union Side.
He listed his occupation as a farmer with blue eyes, brown hair, light complexion at 5 feet 7 inches.

Abram Deuel and Lucinda ¡§Lucy¡¨ Fisher marry on October 8, 1872 in Mason City, Iowa. Abram is 50 years old and Lucy is 20 years old.

In 1873, their first son, Frank Allen Deuel, is born on July 20, 1873 in Iowa.
In 1876, their second son, Ira William Wellington Deuel, is born on February 25 in Iowa.
In 1878, their daughter, Clara Alma Deuel, is born May 30, 1878 in Iowa.
In the 1880 Federal Census, the family is living in Grant, Iowa. Abram lists his occupation as farmer. (58 years old)
According to the Minnesota, Territorial and State Census on May 1, 1885, the family has moved to Greenbush Township, Mille Lacs County, Minnesota.

Abraham Deuel, of Milo, died Monday at his home, of heart failure. He was one of the old settlers of this section and was well known and universally respected. Abram is buried at the Milo Cemetery. Because of his military service, Abram receives a military gravestone.

In Probate Court, Special Term, February 17, 1898.
In the matter of the estate of Abram Deuel, deceased.
Letters of administration on the estate of said deceased being this day granted unto Lucy J. Deuel, administrator of said county. It is ordered, that all claims and demands of all persons against said estate be presented to this court for examination and allowance at the probate office, in the court house, in the village of Princeton in said county, on Wednesday, the 31st day of August 1898, at 10:00 am.
It is further ordered, that six months from the date hereof be allowed to creditors to present their laims against said estate, at the expiration of which time all claims not presented to said court or not proven to its satisfaction shall be forever barrowed, unless for cause shown further time be allowed.
Ordered further, that notice of the time and place of the hearing and examination of said claims and demands shall be given by publishing this order once in each week, for three successive weeks, in the Princeton Union a weekly newspaper printed and published at Princeton in said county.
Dated at Princeton the 17th day of February, A.D. 1898.
