Louise was born and raised in Houson County, Texas, a daughter of James C. Merriwether (1881–1975) and Georgia Brown (1886–1968). On 19 Dec 1935 she married Herman E. Ainsworth in Huntsville, Texas; they were the parents of three sons: Rev. Jim Tom, William David and Joe Michael Ainsworth. Louise was a school teacher for many years.

Louise M. Ainsworth was born Aug. 6, 1915, in Kennard to James Creath and Georgia Brown Merriwether. She graduated from Alto High School and Sam Houston State University, and was a teacher in the Houston High Schools of Stubblefield, Latexo and Kennard for many years. She was married to Herman E. Ainsworth of Kennard, who died in 1982. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Crockett, and active in Presbyterian Women and Circle work. She was a docent at the Downes-Aldrich House. Mrs. Ainsworth died in Tyler Monday, Sept. 10 at the age of 75.


Survivors include three sons and their spouses, the Rev. Jim Tom and Corrie Ainsworth of Crockett, Bill and Judy Ainsworth of Crockett, Joe and Pam Ainsworth of Houston, seven grandchildren, Brian Ainsworth and wife, Sharon, of Austin, Loden Ainsworth of Oxford, Miss., Greg Ainsworth of Dallas, Paige Ainsworth of Denton, Jason Ainsworth of College Station, and Johnathan and Allison Ainsworth of Crockett; one brother, John W. Merriwether of Crockett; and three sisters; Helen Harrison of Brenham, Margie Womack of Groveton and Rosalyn Ramsey of Huntsville.


Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13 at First Presbyterian Church of Crockett with Dr. Ralph Marshall officiating. Interment followed in Corinth Cemetery in Kennard.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Crockett.
