The deceased was born at Hartwick, Otsego county, on June 22, 1838. She spent her earlier days in Otsego county and when about twenty years of age she was united in marriage to Reuben Babbit, whose death occurred at Cuyler twenty-three years ago. She has made her home with her daughter in Cortlandville for the past two years.
There are eight children of the family who survive, George Burnett having died when 13 years of age. The children are: H. A. Babbit of [can't read] ... N. R. Babbit of Palo Alto, Cal., M. C. Babbit of Delanson, N. Y., O. C. Babbit of Lowville, C. E. Babbit of Casa Grande, Ariz., Mrs. George Abbott of Cortlandville, Mrs. C. F. Monro of DeRuyter.
Mrs. Babbit always attended the churches of the Baptist faith, being a loyal and faithful supporter of the church and a constant reader of her Bible.
The funeral services, which will be private, will be held from the home of Mrs. George Abbott in Cortlandville on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. D. Walker of East River will officiate. The remains will be taken to DeRuyter for interment.
