Services for Wilmot L. Lendt, Tipton, formerly of Clarence, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park. Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Monday at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.

Mr. Lendt died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine, after an extended illness. He had farmed, operated a DX tank wagon and operated a DX Station in Clarence. He played Santa Claus for many years in Clarence.

He was born March 14, 1910, in South Dakota. He married Genevieve Morgan in 1931. She died in 1961. He married Margaret Wigal in 1963. They had done truck gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret; daughters, Shirlene Weaver, Tipton, Donna Cromer, Princeton, and Sherrill Ledvina, Bettendorf; stepsons, Kenneth Vance, Muscatine, and Gary Vance, Silvis, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren.
