Shirlene E. Weaver, age 85, of Iowa City, formerly of Clarence, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa. City.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 30, at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 31, at Clarence United Methodist Church in Clarence, with Pastor Carol Mart and Joe Ledvina officiating. Burial will be in the Clarence Cemetery, Clarence, Iowa.
Shirlene E. Lendt was born July 20, 1931, in Tipton, the daughter of Wilmot and Genevieve (Morgan) Lendt. She graduated from Clarence High School in 1950. She married Kenneth Wayne Weaver on June 29, 1950, in Clarence. Together they farmed in Cedar County, until they retired to Clarence. She enjoyed dancing with Kenneth, going to the lake and spending the winters in the south. Above all, she loved the time she spent with her family.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth; two daughters, Marcy Lamp of Iowa City and Lisa (Ross) Hunwardsen of Fairmont, MN; three sons, Michael (Bonnie) Weaver of The Villages, FL, Mark (Margaret) Weaver of Davenport and Mervin (Patrice) Weaver of Lisbon; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna (Lee) Schweiger of Princeton and Sherry (Larry) Ledvina of Bettendorf.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
