George DeWayne Beers, 67, formerly of 203 E. Fourth St., Oil City, died at 12:10 pm Thursday, March 11, 1993, at Franklin Campus of Northwest Medical Center. Born Jan. 24, 1926, in Franklin, he was a son of Manuel and Cleo McCune Beers.

He was a member of Calvary Temple of Oil City, and was a house painter by trade. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II.

He is survived by a son, William Tenney, of Oil City; a daughter, Donna Bean of Tucson, AZ; a special friend, Audrey Walters of Oil City; a brother, Braden Beers of Kennerdell; three sisters, Helen Oakes of Seneca, Mrs. Robert (Geraldine "Sue") Proper of Pleasantville, and Mrs. Edward (Faye) Peterson of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Porter and Shirley Beers; and a brother, James Beers.

Services and interment will be at the convenience of family. Jonathan H. Hutchinson Funeral Home in Oil City is in charge of arrangements.
