The funeral for Lewiston homemaker Lydia Stelljes will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Lewiston. The Rev. Timothy Solberg will officiate.
A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Good Hope Lutheran Church Cemetery at Gifford, Idaho.
She died of causes related to age Monday at the Lewiston Care Center. She was 91.
The daughter of the Rev. August and Pauline Harms Graebener, she was born March 2, 1901, at Dover, Ark.
In 1905, the family came to Washington state and made their home at Sprague, Farmington, Lind and Tacoma, where her father served as pastor to several churches over the next seven years.
They moved in 1912 to Gifford, where she attended Fairview School.
She married Fred C. Stelljes Jan. 12, 1918, at Gifford. Her father performed the ceremony.
She and her husband moved to Walla Walla in 1923 and stayed there for four years, moving in 1927 to Lewiston.
He worked as a lumber salesman and cabinet maker at Lewiston. He died July 9, 1970.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Trinity Lutheran Women's Guild, a past member of the War Mothers, and she taught Sunday school for 35 years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, crocheting, making quilts and activities with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Kromm of Spokane and Thelma Dorion of Lewiston; two sons, Delbert Stelljes of Clarkston and Harold Stelljes of Lewiston; two sisters, Irma Olsen and Hertha Perica, both of Spokane, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Seven sisters and brothers and two grandchildren died previously.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
