The death of the 17 year old son of Mr and Mrs John Coffey of Columbia which occurred on last Sunday, was the result of blood poisoning, the young man having been bitten on the hand by some poisonous insect or reptile a few days previous to his demise. His death was a sad blow to his parents, being an only son, their sorrow must be great indeed. The funeral, which was large, occurred on Tuesday.
