Mrs. Frances Burgess Peterson, 86, of 1318 Union School Road, Clinton, died Sunday at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC.
Mrs. Peterson, born in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late David James Burgess and Minnie Burgess Ezzell and the widow of Lloyd Andrew Peterson, married Dec. 25, 1947. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and David Burgess and sisters, Airlene Burgess Vann and Joyce Burgess Lane.
She was a homemaker all her life and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn P. Batchelor and husband Garry of Clinton; stepdaughter, Judy P. Edwards of Wilmington and her grandson, David Batchelor.
The family received friends following the services at the cemetery.
The funeral services were held graveside at 3 PM, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in Grandview Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Raeford Carter, Jr. officiating.
Burial was made in the Memorial Gardens.
