Mrs. Helen Irene Eiker Weinarsky, 89, of Sea Isle City, N.J., died Thursday, March 30, 2005, at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, Middle Township, N.J.
Born Oct. 14, 1915, in Emmitsburg, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Laura Vansickle Eiker.
She was the loving wife of the late Peter Weinarsky, who died in 1998.
A United States Army Corporal, Helen served her country during World War II as a WAC, where she earned an American Service Medal, WWII Victory Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.
After her discharge from the Army, she and her husband lived in Camden, N.J., for many years and moved to Sea Isle City in 1965 as retirees. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, where she volunteered cleaning and caring for the church. Helen will also be remembered by many local nursing home residents for the beautiful crafts that she would make and give as gifts every year.
Surviving are a son, Clarence Ancarrow and wife Susan of Smithsburg; two daughters, Ters Joyce Ancarrow of Sharpsburg, and Helen Wuhlbaier of Woodbury, N.J.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gilbert Eiker and wife Regina, Elwood Eiker and wife Vera; and brother-in-law, James Kemp all of Emmitsburg. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Linda Weinarsky; two brothers, Frank Eiker and wife Nellie, Robert Eiker and wife Mildred; two sisters, Ruth Kemp and Betty Wierman and husband Leroy; and first husband, John Ancarrow.
Funeral services were held at the Dinan Funeral Home, Ocean View, N.J.
Interment was at the Calvary Baptist Cemetery, Ocean View, N.J.
