Veteran, U.S. Army, Assistant machine gunner, Company B, 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division. The 18 year old entered the Army in Aug. 1962 and has been stationed in Hawaii since last Oct. (Altoona Mirror, Jan. 24, 1964)

Clarence J. 'Jess' Holton II, 66, Sharon, died Sunday. He was born in Altoona, son of Clarence J. I and Betha Holton. Surviving are his companion, Diane R. Miller; four children: Clarence J. III, Linda L. and David Holton and Aaron Miller; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Nuehart. He was preceded in death by three siblings: Edyth Lenz, John and Ralph. Jess was a U.S. Army veteran. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home, Sharon, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
