James, 69, Van Wert, died at 3:47 a.m., at St. Rita's Medical Center.

He was a son to Lloyd E. and Ethel L. (Miller) Agler. On Oct 24, 1964, he married Mary J. Murphy, who survives at the residence.

Surviving are a son, Eric, Hamilton; two daughters, Pauletta (Ron) Hohlbein, Delphos, and Allison (Eric) Hammond, Van Wert; two brothers, Ronald E. (Vera), Van Wert, and Marvin Lee (Belle), Ohio City; four sisters, Loma L. Miller, Chinock, MT, Joyce L. (Raymond) Elle, Rockford, Shirley K. (Irvin) Crider, Elida, and Kathleen F. Funk, CO; eight grandchildren, Trey, Nathan, Seth, Ryan, and Logan Agler, Alyssa and Danielle Hohlbein, Markie Agler, Nick and E.J. Hammond; and two great-grandchildren, Braddex Agler and Gavin Hammond.

Deceased are a brother and two sisters, all linked below.

He retired in 1996 from Chrysler-Amplex in Perrysburg, Ohio. He was a active and life member of Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert; a 1960 graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School; veteran of the U.S. Air Force; and was involved in the Friends Disaster Service

Services are at Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Steve Savage officiating.
