Granby __ Clifford Melton Organ, 45, Granby, died at 9 this morning in St. John's Hospital in Joplin, where he was taken Tuesday morning after he was involved in a car-train accident. The Highway Patrol siad the accident took place at 7:15 when Mr. Organ apparently failed to see the flashing blinker signal light and slid into the front left side of a north bound Kansas City Southenr freight train, in norther Newton County.
Mr. Organ had been listed as "very critical" by attendants at the hospital since the time of the accident.
He was born Sept. 15, 1919 and had lived his entire life in Granby. He was employed at Vickers Inc., in Joplin and was on his way to work at the time of the fatal accident. Mr. Organ was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Organ of the home, one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Prier, LaPorte, Ind., one son, Johnnie of the home, three sisters, Mrs. Opal Cook, Neosho, Mrs. Louella Doty, Flint, Mich., and Miss Hazel Organ, Kansas City, three brothers, Fletcher Organ, Kansas city, Junior Organ, Kansas City, and Harold Arnell, Kennwick, Wash., and two grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Shewmake Funeral Home, Granby.
