Born June 17, 1922 in Delaware County, Pvt. Doggett attended Burris and Central High Schools. Before his enlistment in 1942, he was employed at the Ball Brothers Company. He was sent overseas in October, 1943, to Africa before going to Italy. He was buried in the Marzanello Nuovo Cemetery, Cassino, Italy.
Surviving besides the parents are two sisters, Mrs. Wilma Frazier of Muncie, and Mrs. Elnora Kennedy of Morrison, Tenn.; two brothers, Army Pvt. Marvin Doggett, and Dickie, at home.
