Mr. J. W. "Jay" McClaran, age 84, of Eagleville, Tennessee, died Friday morning, September 30, 2011 at his home. Mr. McClaran was born in Davidson County and was a son of the late John Marvin and Lela Pauline Gardner McClaran. He served in the United States Army in the Signal Corp. Mr. McClaran was retired from Beasley & Sons of Nashville where he was the plant manager. He was a long time member of the Eagleville Church of Christ.
Mr. McClaran was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Elnora McClaran who died in 1984 and by his second wife, Thelma Irene McClaran who died in 2004.

Mr. McClaran is survived by two sons, Johnny (Suzanne) McClaran, Eagleville, TN, Jerry Alfred McClaran, Nashville, TN; brother, Donald Marvin (Nancy) McClaran, Eagleville, TN; sisters, Cynthia Marie (Wayne) Vaughn, Eagleville, TN, Lottie (Harold) Hall, Rocky Glade Comm., Sarah Jane Applegate, Chessapeake Bay, MD; one grandson, Davy (Melissa) McClaran, Chapel Hill, TN; two great grandchildren, Ryley and Owen McClaran; step-daughter, Deborah (Griffin) Wyatt, Nashville, TN; step-son, Randy Kahmann, Memphis, TN; step-grandchildren, Cullen and Lauren Wyatt.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 1, 2011 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Charles Mullins and Jim Lawyer officiating. Burial will follow in Owen Cemetery in Eagleville, TN.
