Donald Marvin McClaran, beloved patriarch of the McClaran family, died on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the age of 86. Mr. McClaran was born at his home in Nashville and was a son of the late John Marvin and Lela Pauline Gardner McClaran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, J. W. McClaran; sister, Lottie McClaran Hall; and son-in-law, Bill Lamb.

Mr. McClaran dedicated his life to his wife, Nancy Jo Wood McClaran, sharing in the love and joy of raising their children, whom he is survived by; Deborah McClaran Lamb, Ginger McClaran (Don) Lamb, Michael (Elizabeth) McClaran, all of Eagleville, TN; sisters, Sara Jane McClaran Applegarth, Church Creek, Maryland, Cindy McClaran Vaughn, Eagleville, TN.

Donald McClaran touched the lives of everyone he met with his kindness and unconditional love. He worked as a barber for 15 years in Smyrna, then as a clerk for both Tennessee Machinery and Beasley & Sons Millwork in Nashville. He proudly retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He was a dedicated Elder and life- long member of Rocky Glade Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Mr. McClaran's most notable role was that of a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. "Pappy" proudly supported his family and loved ones at ballgames, school achievements, birthdays, and so much more. Mr. McClaran clothed himself in humble mindedness and modeled Christian virtues among all those he met.

"Pappy's" love and comic wit will live on through his grandchildren, Shane (Katie) Lamb, Chad (Jodi) Lamb, Jennifer Lamb(Brian) Cooper, Tiffany Lamb, Dustin (Andriana) Lamb, Brandon (McClain) Lamb, Chelsea Lamb (Kyle) Gugger, Eliza McClaran, Brigham McClaran; great grandchildren, Nate, Rebecca and Britta Lamb, Roman and Madalyn Gugger, Hayes and Layla Lamb, Grant, Luke and Emma Cooper, Sophie and Sutton Lamb, Everett and Ty Lamb.

Family members will receive friends on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Visitation will also be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 12, 2021 with funeral services to follow at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Jobe officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Glade Cemetery near Eagleville where Donald served on the Board of Trustees for many years.

Active pallbearers will be Don Lamb, Chad Lamb, Dustin Lamb, Brian Cooper, Brandon Lamb, Kyle Gugger, Brigham McClaran and Shane Lamb. Jerry McClaran, Kenny Hall, Larry Hazel, Herbert Crick, Lanny Turner, Richard Bradley, Ken House, Jerry Bowen and Jeremy Murphy will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Pam White and Staff for loving and caring for our "Pappy" the final six weeks of his battle with Dementia.
