Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Birkholz, 88, were held Monday morning at Holy Trinity church, Jericho. Mrs. Birkholz passed away early Friday morning at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Salm. She had been ill for several months.

A lifelong resident of Calumet County, Mrs. Birkholz was born Oct. 8, 1862, in the town of Johnsburg. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Morgan, pioneer settlers in the area.

She was married to John Birkholz at St. John’s church, Johnsburg. The couple settled in the town of Brothertown. Her husband preceded her in death, Feb. 9, 1917. A son, Hubert, now occupies the homestead.
She was a member of the Christian Mothers of Holy Trinity church, Jericho.
Mrs. Birkholz had made her home with the Salms since last October.

Survivors include five daughters, Sr. M. Sylvester of St. Francis convent, St. Francis, Wis., Mrs. Math (Catherine) Simon, Johnsburg; Mrs. Anton (Mary) Schicker and Miss Rosalie, Fond du Lac; Mrs. Martin (Eva) Salm, Chilton; two sons, Albert of Fond du Lac and Norbert, Jericho; 26 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Services were held at Holy Trinity Church. Rev. S. J. Engl was the celebrant, assisted by a grandson of the deceased, Rev. Walter Morgan, Menomonee Falls as deacon and Rev. Peter Salm, Clintonville, Sub-deacon. Another grandson, Martin Simon, a student at St. Francis Major seminary, St. Francis, Wis., was master of ceremonies.
