Robert J. Fulton, a well known citizen living northeast of Sedan died last Friday as a result of illness of some duration. Funeral services were conducted at the home at 10 o'clock Saturday, Rev. C. T. Cotton officiating. Burial was made in the family lot at Dexter, Kan. Music was furnished by a quartette composed of Mesdames H. Shreve and Leon Baker and Mrssrs. R. Sharpless and E. D. Orwig. His three sons and G. Jackson, M. Bassett and Wm. Wright acted as pall bearers.
Robert J. Fulton was born Sept., 1, 1855 at Martinsville, Ill. died July 15, 1921 at Sedan, Kan. In 1871 he moved with his parents to Pottawatomie county, Kan, He was married to Mary Points at Havensville, Kan. in 1878. She still survives him. To this union were born 7 children, 2 of whom died in early childhood. Those surviving are Mrs. M. G. Ward of Dexter, Clarence E., Florence, and John S., of Sedan and Thos B. of Tulsa. He also had 6 grandchildren, 5 of whom are living. Besides these he leaves to mourn a sister, Mrs. J. N. Clark of Havensville and two brothers, Sherman of Onaga and Jess of St. Marys, Kansas.
He moved from Havensville to Dexter, Kan., in 1905 and from there to Sedan, Kan, in 1910, where he resided up to the date of his death.
His dominant personal characteristics were, devotion to his family, honesty and integrity in his dealings with his fellow men and intense patriotism and loyalty to his country. Although not a member of any church he lived a Christian life, observing and believing in those things and the role of conduct constituting Christian living.
