INDEPENDENCE (Special) —
Jean Rusuaw Boody, 74, longtime
Independence resident, died
Thursday, Nov. 20, at 11:55 a.m.
at People's Memorial hospital extended
care unit. He was born
July 18, 1896, at Eldora, Ia., the
son of Frederick C. and Abbie H.
Brown Boody. On April 29, 1920 he
married Joy Valentine Wooldridge
at Des Moincs.
Boody had lived in Independence
since 1920, having worked
at the Independence Produce for
43 years. After retiring from the
Produce he was employed at a
service station in Independence.
Funeral services for Boody
were held Saturday, Nov. 28 at
the White Funeral Home chapel
in Independence. The Rev. Bernard
G. Olson officiated and burial
was in the Oakwood cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Joy;
one daughter, Mrs. John (Frances)
Dolan, Marion; three half brothers,
Charles Boody, California;
.Frank Boody, Little Falls, Minn.,
and George Boody, Tucson, Ariz.;
four grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by his parents, one
daughter and one son, both in infancy;
one half brother. Clem
Boody, and one half sister, Mary
Ellen VanNevele.
Pallbearers were Rick Fiester,
Pete Koeppel, Paul Greif, Beldon
Lemons, Ed Harberts and Charles
Higgins. The White Funeral home
was in charge of arrangements
