Born Aug. 15, 1871 at Etna, Mo., Mr. Lips was married to Miss Lucy Lu Bender Nov. 28, 1900 in Chapel, W. Va. They came to kansas in 1914 and settled in this vicinity where he had made his home since.
Survivors include: His wife, one son John, Coffeyville, one grandson; one sister Mrs. W. Raber, Keekuk, Ia., and one brother W.E. Lips, Bismarck, N.D.
Mr. Lips was a member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bartlett Methodist church, with the Rev. C. Orr. Burial will be in Lake Creek cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Fritz funeral home in Mound Vally until Saturday afternoon, when it will be taken to the home.
