Death of Mrs. Wyley Gilmore.
Mrs. Mary Ann Gilmore, wife of Mr. Wyley Gilmore, died at the family residence last Monday at 1:00 o'clock p.m. after an illness of several weeks. She had lived in the Rock Spring neighborhood all of her life of nearly seventy years. She was a woman of fine Christian character and since young womanhood a member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church. She leaves an aged husband and the following children: Mrs. Rosa Spears; John, Robert, James, Watt, Lon, Zell and Dock – one daughter and seven sons, and a large number of other relatives and friends. The burial was at Rock Spring Cemetery at 11:00 o'clock last Tuesday morning; funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. C. Yeargan, the pastor, assisted by Dr. W. C. Bledsoe, who was for many years her pastor in former times. A large congregation assembled to pay the last tribute to her memory.
