Wife of Robert Weir (Wier).

Daughter of William Boyd and Margaret Lyons Boyd and came with them and future husband Robert Weir aboard "The Lady Washington," which set sail from Belfast, Ireland, on Aug. 4, 1804, and landed at Charleston, South Carolina Oct. 31, 1804. She and Robert Weir married in South Carolina and went with the Boyd family to Illinois in 1820.

Called "Jane" Boyd in all of the known extant Boyd-Weir-Hamilton letters and in the Weir-Boyd papers of Ms. Ada Torrens (Sparta, Ill. Library), but called "Nancy Jean Boyd" in Ten Tribes of Wier by Rev. William Swansea Wier.

Jane Boyd Weir was born 1 July 1792 (per one ref.) and died 18 Oct 1872, widow of Robert Weir. She and Robert share the same grave marker with their son Robert Weir, 1831-57.
