Carol was baptized at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sioux Falls, SD in 1959. She attended Franklin Elementary, Whittier Middle School and Washington High School. On May 6, 1967 Carol was united in marriage to Norman Olson at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The couple moved to Valley Springs, SD and later to Hardwick, MN. They were blessed with three children, Dawn, Chad and Todd. Carol worked hard as a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. Norman preceded her in death on September 26, 2003. Carol continued to reside in Hardwick until the summer of 2008 when she moved to Luverne, MN. On Monday May 25, 2009, Carol died peacefully under hospice care at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 65 years, three months and one day.
Carol was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Hardwick, MN. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and Yahtzee and the companionship of her pets. Most of all Carol loved the time spent with her children and family.
Carol is lovingly remembered by her children, Dawn Olson and Chad Olson both of Luverne, MN; three brothers Nolan and his wife Linda Letcher of Brandon, SD, Lester and his wife Karen Letcher of San Antonio, TX nad Donald and his wife Alvina Letcher of Hardwick, MN; two sisters Elaine and her husband Ivan Else of Valley Springs, SD and Patti and her husband Don Lafrenz of Luverne, MN; and other family. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, an infant son, Todd, a sister Delores Anderson and her parents.
