RACINE - Louis J. 'Uncle Luigi' Klinkhammer, 91, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011, at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home, Union Grove. Louis was born in Caledonia February 27, 1920, son of the late Joseph and Josephine (nee: Mutchie) Klinkhammer. On February 1, 1945, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Delores E. Mullenburg, who preceded him in death June 19, 2003. During World War II, he proudly served in the United States Army. He was employed by American Motors Corporation and Massey Ferguson. Louis was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and member of the Racine Moose Lodge. Louis enjoyed motorcycles, farming, hunting, fishing, and gambling. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family. He will be deeply missed. Survivors include his children, Mary Ann (Fred) Tomkiewicz of Rhode Island, Norbert (Shirley) Klinkhammer of Sun City, Ariz.; his grandchildren, Deborah (John) Cline, Cherie (Peter) Conover, Frederick Tomkiewicz Jr., Michael Klinkhammer, Richard Klinkhammer (Kim Little); his great- grandchildren, Justin, Evan, and Ben Conover, Andrew Cline; brother, Edward Klinkhammer of Racine; sister, Lucille Braun of Racine; sisters- in-law and brother-in- law, Mary Thomas of Racine, Ann (Chet) Frye of Kenosha; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph E. Klinkhammer Jr.; and sisters, Bernice Klinkhammer, Marie Deandre, and Eleanor George. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lucy's Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, Tuesday, April 19, 2011, 11 a.m., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Entombment with full Military Honors will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Kenosha. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at Boland Hall for their loving and compassionate care.
