Rites for Pete Karst To Be In Hoisington
Milberger - Funeral services for Pete Karst, 63, were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the American Lutheran Church, Milberger, with Pastor Emil Kuehn officiating. Burial was in the Milberger Cemetery with Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, in chargeof arrangements.
Mr. Karst, a life-long resident of the Milberger-Galatia community, died suddenly Thursday morning at the Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, where he had been a patient for six days. He was born April 7, 1905, in Galatia, and was married to the former Freda Schwartzkopf May 2, 1926, in Milberger. She survives him.
Other survivors are two sons, Galatia; two daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Melba) Strecker, Sylvan Grove, and Mrs. Wilmer (Twila) Bitter, Hoisington; a brother, William, Russell; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Radke and Mrs. Mollie Keil, Russell and Mrs. Minnie Schwein, Junction City, and 10 grandchildren.
He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Milberger, and a memorial in his name has been established in the church's stained glass window fund. Friends may call at the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, 1st and Green Streets, Hoisington, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and Saturday.
