Philo is a son and the first born of seven children, born to Harvey Lewis Chase and Mary Caroline (Paulson) Chase. Philo married Agnes Marsh on 5 Oct. 1904 in North Dakota. They have six children, five girls and one boy. All six children are deceased, four of the children are recorded and on F.A.G. They have two other children deceased but their burials are unknown: Merle Louise (Chase)Johnson (1905-1996) and Everett John Chase (1914-1999). All six lived to marry and give Philo and Agnes twelve grandchildren. Philo was a framer and rancher.
