Francis Dulin was 6th of 11 children of John and Rebecca Elgin Dulin of Loudoun County, Virginia.

He married Margaret Hoskinson on 14 Jan 1824. Puzzles still surround some of the 8 children of their marriage ... with strong clues to several sons who may have gone to Kentucky prior to 1840. Francis & Margaret & 4 sons appear on the 1850 Wood Co. Census; and on 2 Feb 1847, he had filed an 1828 certified Loudoun County, VA deed with the clerk of Wood County, WV, creating a trust for Margaret.

Francis had apparently died prior to the 1860 Census on which Margaret H. and sons, Everett S., Thaddeus P., and George A. Dulin are listed in Ritchie Co., WV. In a 1927 Chancery Court action in Wirt Co., concerning division of the land inherited by the heirs of their 1st son, John Thomas Dulin, two of John's daughters petitioned the court to reserve the family burial ground including about 1/8 of an acre, which "has been used for a great number of years by the family of John T. Dulin, HIS FATHER, brothers, sisters, other relatives and friends," together with right of ingress and egress from the Hughes River Road. The court approved the partition. This supports the belief that Francis Dulin is buried in the "Dulin's Graveyard".
