Rebecca was the youngest daughter of Francis Elgin Sr and Rebecca Cartwright. Francis was the original Elgin immigrant to Loudoun County, coming originally from Charles County, Maryland.

John and Rebecca had ten children. I will list those whose burials have not been found, and will link them later if the information becomes available.

Nancy and Betsy Dulin were born 26 Dec 1797 in Loudoun County, Virginia. They may have been stillborn as no other date was given, and no other mention was ever made of them.

Thomas Dulin was born 3 Mar 1799 in Loudoun County, Virginia. He apparently died before 1841 as he is not mentioned in Dulin et al v. Keene et al., 1841.

Unnamed Son was born 1 Dec 1800 in Loudoun County, Virginia, and died Jan 1801.

Sanford Dulin was born 17 Feb 1808 in Loudoun County. He died before 1841 as he was not mentioned in Dulin et al v. Keene et al, and probably left no children.

Thaddeus Dulin was born 10 Jun 1809 in Loudoun County, and like Sanford, died before 1841 as he was not mentioned in Dulin et al v. Keen et al, and probably left no children.

Lydia Ann Dulin was born 5 Oct 1836 in Loudoun County. She married John Latimer 11 Feb 1836 at Green Plains, had at least two children, Charles F. Latimer and John Latimer, and died before 1860.

There is no marker for Rebecca. Until her death, the land where the cemetery sits was owned by John and Rebecca. It is the most probable place for them to be buried, as their daughter and son-law are buried there. Rebecca lived with Newton and Elizabeth Keene after her husband, John died. Her grandchildren who knew her refer to this cemetery as the place where she was buried. For all these reasons, Rebecca's memorial is placed in this cemetery.
