Houston County Courier - January 6, 2002 Obit for Mrs. Viola Bridges age 96 of Lovelady, passed away, Wednesday, January 2, 2002, in the East TX Medical Center-Crockett. Mrs. Bridges was born January 3, 1905 in Shiloh and she had been living in this area all of her lifetime.

Mrs. Bridges was a housewife and a member of the Pearson Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Earl Bridges and wife, Lorraine of Lovelady; Garlan Bridges and wife Nancy of Spring; Sandra Burgess Bridges of Crockett; Juanita Rollo Bridges of Lovelady; daughters and son-in-law, Eloise Adams and husband Walter of Crockett; Hilda Adams and husband Rayford Mack of Lovelady; daughter Joyce Adams and Chester of Weldon; Gerry Gardner and husband Bennie of Pearson Chapel; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by husband, Willis Bridges in 1977, sons, Howard and Terrell Bridges, and granddaughter Shannon Bridges Spinks.

Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Bridges were held Friday, January 4, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Arlon Gunnels officiating. Interment followed in the Bynum Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pearson Chapel Baptist Church, P. O. Box 218, Lovelady, TX 75851 or the Bynum Cemetery Fund, Rt. !, Box 1131, Crockett, TX 75835.
