Arnold, grandfather of Brother Lawrence Arnold, on Tuesday October 23, 1883 is found the following entry: "I and Henry (his son) was at the meeting house again, working at the lot, leveling it up, etc. and also set out 60 maple trees for shade." As a result of this, the Grove or Spring Grove house came to be called the Maple Grove house. Today it is called Maple Grove Church.
