Eunice Muriel Lenox, 74, 628 E. 16th Ave. died Wednesday at Albany General Hospital. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Herbert Morris officiating. Burial follows at Willamette Memorial Park. Viewing hours will be until 8 tonight and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at AAsum Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Eunice Lenox Memorial Fund or to the Albany Public Library.
Born Feb. 28, 1903 in Madelia, Minn., she grew up and received her early education in Elbow Lake, Minn. She later attended Teacher’s College in St. Cloud Minn.
She married Jack Lenox Aug. 6, 1924. He died in 1960.
After her marriage, they lived in Elbow Lake until moving to Albany in 1942. She attended Oregon State University in Corvallis and received her teaching degree from Oregon College of Education in Monmouth.
A teach more than 30 years, she taught at Fairmont, Fir Grove and Shed grade schools and most recently at Central Linn High School in Halsey.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eulan (Cathryn) Ladyshot and Mrs. William (Dela) Burcham. both of Albany; three brothers, James Parson of Harrisburg, and Lawrence and Hugo Parson, both in Minnesota; two sisters, Vena Dickerson of Eugene and Azilka Waye of Newberg; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
