With her family surrounding her, Della "Dot" Lucile Burcham of Albany went home to be with the Lord on July 29th. The first of three daughters, Della was born March 7, 1926 on the family farm near Kimball, MN to Jack and Eunice (Parson) Lenox.

She worked for the Red Owl Grocery in Elbow Lake to pay part of her tuition and graduated from West Central School in Morris, MN.

Growing up Della was involved in the operation of the family farm. Taking care of livestock, milking and harvesting by hand were among her chores. Driving the tractor and the binder were skills she developed from the age of 10.

In August 1944 Della moved to Albany, Oregon traveling in a 1934 Chevrolet with her family.

In the course of beginning her lengthy career with JC Penney Co., she met "a soldier boy" named Bill Burcham who was stationed at Camp Adair. Bill and Della were married March 17, 1946. Following one year in North Carolina, they returned to Albany to live, work and raise their family.

Della enjoyed time with her family, her church involvement, homemaking, gardening and visiting with friends. During the early years she fellowshipped at the First Baptist Church and later enjoyed many years at Albany First Assembly.

Della is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, one son and daughter-in-law, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one niece.

She was preceded in death by husband Bill; her parents; and sisters Doris and Cathryn.

A celebration of life service will be at 6pm Monday August 4th at the Albany Assembly of God Church. Memorial Contributions may be made to Options Pregnancy Resource Centers, Albany Helping Hands, or Prince of Peace Community Church in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 SW Washington St., Albany, OR 97321.
