Harmon L. Ahalt was born December 7, 1871, in Frederick County, Maryland, the son of Joshua Dawson and Laura Emily Shafer Ahalt. In 1896, he married Anna Mary Eyler, daughter of Henry and Emily Rebecca Valentine Eyler. They were the parents of 3 children: Mehrle Eyler, Ethel Grace and Joshua Shafer Ahalt. Harmon passed away August 11, 1945, in Brunswick, Frederick County, and was buried on the 14th in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Middletown, Frederick County, Maryland.
