Mr. Burton died at his home Sunday at 8 p.m. after a long illness.
He was born May 10, 1889, in Jensen, a son of John Ira and Hattie Terrell Burton. He married Della Hathaway, December 5, 1907, in Duchesne. He homesteaded on Deep Creek, now known as Little Water, and was a member of the Roping clubs at Vernal, Roosevelt, and Neola.
Clarence furnished bucking stock for rodeos in this area, and furnished bucking horses at last weekend's Vernal Amateur Rodeo.
He is survived by his widow, a son, Thomas Ira Burton, Roosevelt; and two daughters, Wanneta Caldwell, Vernal, and Jenna Vieve Nielson, Lapoint; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Guy Burton, Roosevelt, and Charlie Burton, Lapoint, and four sisters, Carey Merkley, Nola McNeil, Marie Dodds, and Neva Ashby, all of Vernal.
Burial was in the Lapoint Cemetery.
