FUNERAL SERVICES ANNOUNCED FOR HATTIE T. BURTON

Funeral services are being conducted today (Thursday) at 1 p.m. for Hattie Terrill Burton, 85, in the Vernal Third Ward Chapel by Bishop C. Laurence Fox.

Mrs. Burton died at the Uintah County Hospital at 5 a.m. Tuesday following a stroke.

She was born March 11, 1867, at Douglas County, Nebraska, a daughter of J. I. and Cordelia Greenleaf Terrill. She married to Ira Burton at Eagle County, Colorado, June 18, 1887. In 1888, she and her husband moved to Jensen where they operated a ferry boat across the Green River. They moved to Vernal later where Mr. Burton died in July 1941.

Surviving Mrs. Burton are three sons and four daughters, Clair and Charlie Burton, Lapoint; Guy Burton, Roosevelt; Marie Doods, Carrie Merkley, Neva Ashby and Nola NcNeill, all of Vernal, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Maeser Rock Point Cemetery.
