Mrs. Madeline Payne, 58, 3149 University Ave., died Friday evening at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Payne had lived her entire life in Muncie and was married to Elza C. Payne, who died in 1944. She had been employed by Ball State College for the past four years.
She was a member of the Hazelwood Christian Church, and Eastern Star. She was a past Guardian of Job's Daughters.
Surviving are two daughters, Miss Betty R. Payne and Mrs. Robert Wagoner, both of Muncie; a brother, Henry Eden, Auburn; and a grandchild, Betsy Wagoner, Muncie.
