HUBBARD ITEMS: Obituary

Maria Lavisa [sic] Arnold was born at Union, Cass Co. Mich. March 2nd, 1847, where she grew to womanhood and was married to Nathan Rinehart September 26, 1866. She died at her home in Hubbard February 26, 1913.
Four children were born to them all of whom are living namely Mrs. Lettie Yeager of Underwood N. Dakota, Frank Rinehart of El Paso, Texas. Mrs. Rose Brick and Mrs. Nellie Benham of this place who with a loving husband deeply mourn her loss.
She also leaves six brothers, C. D., Chas and Lockwood Arnold of this place, she will be grieviously missed by the last one named as he is a cripple and has made his home with her for several years.
She united with the Methodist church at the age of fifteen, twenty-three years later she united with the New Light church. But hers was a Christian life. Lived rather than professed. Always unselfish her life was devoted to the comfort and welfare of others. She was a woman of whom it may be said she never had an enemy.
She had been ailing with Lagrippe but death came after three weeks of intense suffering with erysipelas and ill effects.
Two daughters were with her during her last illness, Mrs. Lettie Yeager and Mrs. Rose Brick. Miss Nellie Benham though living near was unable to be present on account of sickness. The funeral was held at the M. E. church Friday at 2 p.m. Rev Kingan conducting the service. A large crowd of friends gathered for the last said rites. Beautiful flowers covered the coffin.
The remains were laid to rest in the Hubbard cemetery. The family have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their bereavement
