NELLIE L. ROHDE
Nellie L. Rohde, daughter of Nathan and Lovisa Rinehart, was born October 5, 1881 at LaSalle, Union County, Illinois. She was baptized in the Lutheran church. She lived with her parents in Illinois until 1886 then moved to Kansas. From there she came with her parents to Hubbard county settling at Hubbard. There she attended school and grew to womanhood. She was married January 1, 1900 to Channing Lee Benham and two children were born to the union, who are now Mrs. William Wittkop (Hazel) of Pillsbury, N. D. and Mrs. Clifford Harstad (Marie) of Rogers, N. D. Mrs. Benham lived with her husband at Hubbard until 1918 then the family moved to Akeley. Mr. Benham died there March 6, 1919 and two years later Mrs. Benham returned to Hubbard. July 23,1923 she was united in marriage to William Rohde, and his death occurred September 11, 1946. Mrs. Rohde was taken ill with diabetes and a heart ailment about fifteen years ago, which brought on three different strokes. She succumbed to the last stroke April 25, 1950 at the age of 68 years. She leaves to mourn her departure the two daughters, four step sons Fred Rohdes of Valley City, N. D., Henry, George and Jake Rohdes of Rogers, N. D., one step daughter Mrs. Glenn Collins (Marian) of San Bernardino, Calif., also five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. There is also one sister, Mrs. Rose Brick of Nimrod, Minn. The latter attended the funeral.

MRS. WM. RHODE
DIES HERE AT 68

Mrs. William (Nellie) Rohde, 68, 710 Second Street N. W., a resident of Valley City for the past 27 years, passed away at the Mercy hospital Tuesday.
She is survived by two daughters, Hazel, Mrs. William Wittkop, of Pillsbury, and Marie, Mrs. Clifford Harstad, of Rogers, four step-sons; Fred W., Henry J., George W., and Jacob, all of this community; one step-daughter, Marion, Mrs. Glen Collins, San Bernardino, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Rose Brick, Nimrod, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., from the Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Henry Meske will officiate. Burial will be at the Woodbine cemetery. Friends may call at the Holberg-Peterson Funeral Home for further information.
