NATHAN RINEHART DIES AT AGE OF 79 YEARS
Was One of Pioneers of Hubbard County, Settling on Farm Near Hubbard 31 Years Ago

This week in the death of Nathan Rinehart of Hubbard another name was stricken from the ever-lessening roll of pioneers in this section of the state. For thirty-one years Mr. Rinehart lived in Hubbard county, coming here on July 1, 1890, a few years after the Shell Prairies were opened up to settlement. From that time until about a year ago he was actively engaged in farming. Death came suddenly, following a hemorrhage of the brain, while on a visit at the home of his daughter in Fargo on Saturday of last week.
The remains were shipped here and funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at Hubbard, and interment was made in the Hubbard cemetery. The funeral was attended by a large gathering of friends and neighbors.
Nathan Rinehart was born at Union, Mich., on April 24, 1842, and was 79 years of age at the time of his death. In 1866 he was married to Miss Lovisa Arnold, at Cassopolis, Mich., who preceded him in death seven years ago.
To Mr. and Mrs. Rinehart were born three daughters and one son, all of whom are living. Nine years after his marriage Mr. Rinehart moved his family to Ottowa, Illinois, where they lived for six years, then moved to Hallowell, Kansas, which place was their home for eight years. From Kansas he moved to Minnesota, locating near Hubbard.
Mr. Rinehart was a member of the G.A.R., having served through the Civil War as a member of Co. "A", 24th Michigan Infantry.
Among the relatives who were present at the funeral were his daughters, Mrs. Rose Brick of Hubbard, Mrs. Lettie Yeager of Fargo, N. D., and Mrs. Nellie Benham of Casselton, N. D.; C. D. Arnold and family and Harry Arnold family of Bemidji. His son Frank of San Ysidro, Calif., and a sister in Michigan, also three grandchildren in North Dakota were unable to attend.
