Harold H. Hammons, 72, of Paducah died at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday at Lourdes hospital.

Mr. Hammons worked for Wonder Market, was manager for Hancock Food Center, a salesman for Metzger Packing, and owned and operated Ross Packing House from 1970 to 1990.

He was a member and deacon of Lone Oak Church of Christ. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Lone Oak Lions Club and was a former Boy Scout Leader.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Anderson Hammons; two sons, Barry Hammons of Washington and Mark Hammons of Paducah; three sisters, Peggy Powers, Jean Duncan, and Louise Starks, all of Paducah; a brother, Ronnie Hammons of Princeton; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers. His parents were Harris Montgomery and Eskaleen Atwood Hammons.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Mike Tanaro will officiate, with burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
