Mrs. Cynthia Adams, aged 73, died at her home a mile south of Joslin at 12:06 this morning following a lingering illness. Cynthia Ward, daughter of Theudas and Alice Ward, was born Dec 24, 1867, near Hillsdale. She was reared and educated In Joslin and in Friend, Neb. She was married July 4, 1886, to James Clark Adams at Friend, Neb. Mr. Adams died Feb. 12, 1940. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Joslin United Brethren church, the Royal Neighbor lodge of Erie and the East Moline unit of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a Gold Star mother. Survivors are two sons, James of Alhambra, CaL, and Kenneth of Joslin; a daughter. Sarah, at home and two grandchildren, Sue Ann and David Adams. A son. Mason, died, in England during the World war. Mrs, Adams was the oldest of a family of fourteen and the following survive: Six brothers, Wesley Ward of Aitkin, Minn.; Charles of Moline, Harry of Albany, James of Davenport, Clarence and John of Hillsdale: and four sisters, Mrs. Rosa Justice of Lincoln. Neb.; Mrs. Minnie Anderson of Clinton; Mrs. Dave Relter of Milledgeville; Mrs. Lucy Henry of Marysvllle. Funeral services were not complete today but will be held In the home with the Rev.. Truman Hiatt officiating. Burial will be In Bethesda cemetery. The body was removed to the Knox mortuary in Moline and will be returned to the home Saturday afternoon.
