Daughter of the late Seth Bridgman Credle, Sr., and Nellie "Claudia" Jarvis, she was the widow of James Lawson Cahoon, Sr. During her working years, she worked with the Hyde County Health Department. She was a member of the Swan Quarter Christian Church. She was survived by three sons, James Lawson Cahoon, Jr., Kenneth S. Cahoon and David B. Cahoon; two daughters, Claudia C. Cahoon and Bridgette C. Midgett; grandchildren, James B. Cahoon, Timothy D. Cahoon, Dean S. Cahoon, Kristen C. Noble, Jaime C. Spencer, Lyla C. Marshall, Emma C. Williams, Nancy J. Cahoon; eight grandchildren; and an extened family of relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Donald D. Cahoon and Eric C. Cahoon; brother, Seth Bridgman Credle, Jr.; sisters, Edith C. Thompson and Helen C. Mason. Her graveside funeral was held on September 17, 2009, with Mike Wheeler and Steve Bryan officiating.
