She was born October 18, 1915, in Curryville, the daughter of the late Frank T. and Bertha M. (Henderson) Branstetter. She was married to Amos O. Eskew. He preceeded her in death on April 18, 1997.
She is survived by one son, J. Brand Eskew and his wife Teresa of Lees Summit, Missouri, two grandsons, John B. Eskew and Matthew T. Eskew, both of Columbia, Missouri, one brother, Samuel Branstetter of Middletown, Missouri, five sisters, Restora Privett of Louisianna, Missouri, Frances Reading of Liberty, Missouri, Velma Wolffender, Beulah Woods and Dorothy Luebbers, all of Bowling Green, Missouri.
She was also preceeded in death by one brother, two half-brothers and two sisters.
She attended Culver Stockton College and Kirksville State Teachers College. She taught in rural school districts in one-room school houses for many years. Opal was a member of the First Babtist Church in Fulton. She was also a member of ex-POW Wives Association. Opal enjoyed her church, friends, traveling, sewing and cooking. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, January 10 at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Stephen Sowder officiating. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens. Family will recieve friends on Wednesday morning from 10:00am until the time of service at the funeral home.
