Timmonsville - Miss Francis Mildred Huggins, 63, a Timmonsville attorney, died at her home Thursday morning from an apparent heart attack.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m in the Timmonsville Southern Methodist Church with the Rev. James Smith, the Rev. Lynn Corbett and the Rev. Herbert Bulware officiating. Burial will be in the Byrd Cemetery directed by Laster-Perry Funeral Home.

Miss Huggins was born in Timmonsville, the daughter of a former Florence County Commissioner and legislator, Maryland Bullard Huggins, Sr. and Luella Cox Huggins.

She was educated in the Timmonsville schools and graduated from Winthrop College with an A.B. degree. She received her L.I.B. degree from the University of South Carolina. She had practiced law in Timmonsville since 1935.

Miss Huggins was a member of the Florence County Bar Association, the Timmonsville Southern Methodist Church, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Winthrop Alumni Association, the American Association of University Women and was a former member of the Executive Committee of the South Carolina Cancer Association.

She was also a member of the South Carolina Delegation of the "People to People" tour behind the Iron Curtain in 1956.

Miss Huggins was a planner of the Continuing Southern Methodist Church, serving as the first secretary of the Provisional South Carolina Annual Conference for a number of years.

She has served as vice president and conference secretary of the Women's Missionary Society.

Surviving are three brothers: Jessee M. Huggins of Orangeburg,James A.(Jim)Huggins and Maryland Bullard Huggins, Jr. both of Timmonsville. One sister: Nettie Lee Huggins of Timmonsville and a number of nieces and nephews.
