He was born Jan. 30, 1911 to Albert and Kathryn*** (Mayer) Baker at Bee, Nebraska. "He served in the U. S. Navy for 20 years -- from Feb. 24, 1933 to Sept. 23, 1953. During that time, he was in both World War II and the Korean War, and was stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, at the time of the Japanese attack." He was married on April 11, 1951 to Laura Wachter at Norfolk. He was survived by his wife, 2 brothers: Milton at Lincoln, Francis at Seward; 1 sister Rose at Lincoln.
