Last Tuesday afternoon the angel of death came for the spirit of the precious child of Roy Hawks. Little Garnet had been sick for something like two weeks. She was only permitted to gladden their home for two years. Truly, a bud on earth, to blossom in heaven. We extend our heart-felt sympathy to the bereaved parents. She leaves besides her parents, a sister, half-brother and grandparents. The remains were interred at Concord, funeral service by Rev. A. B. Ross.
Dresden enterprise and Sharon tribune., November 30, 1917, page 8.
Ruby Garnet Hawks is the daughter of Roy & Ellen Smith Hawks.
