Mary Lafferty, 78, 1713 Quarry Road, Marion, died at 1:25 am. Wednesday at the Marion General Hospital after an illness of three months.
Mrs. Lafferty, born in Fairmount, was a life resident of Grant County. She had been employed at the former Economy Box and Pie Plate Co., and was retired from Superior Paper, Marion. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Marion, and a member and past president and treasurer of the Christian Women's Fellowship of the church. She also was a member of the Hostess House, Marion YWCA, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Marion General Hospital Auxilliary where she had been a volunteer since 1958.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Zora) Payne, Fairmount, and Mrs. Curtis (Edythe) Hall, Evansville.
Services will be at 1 pm. Friday at the Needham and Son Funeral Home, 814 S. Adams St., Marion, with the Rev. Donald Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Marion IOOF Cemetery.
