Jesse S. Huddleston
GEORGIA -- Funeral services for Jesse S. Huddleston, 87, will be held Saturday, July 28, at 11 a.m. EST at Walden United Methodist Church in Avera, Ga.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends today, Friday, July 27, from 6-8 p.m. at James Funeral Home in Wrens, Ga.

Mr. Huddleston died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at Trinity Hospital.

He was born to the late John B. and Mary Huddleston.

Mr. Huddleston was a native of Putnam County. He was a World War II veteran of the Army and life- time VFW member. He was a retiree of E.I. DuPont/Savannah River Plant with the reactor department.

He was also a member of the Jefferson County Farm Bureau. Mr. Huddleston was a member of Walden United Methodist Church, where he had served in the administrative council, was a trustee, steward and choir member.

His family includes his wife of 62 years, Jean C. Huddleston; a sister-in-law, Helen Brown of Avera; six nephews, Lynn Cowan and wife Cynthia of Hixson, Carl Huddleston of Royal Center, Ind., Ted Huddleston and wife Carolyn, John Ivan Youngblood and wife Belle, both of Silver Point, Henry Huddleston and wife Sandy of Monroe, Mich., and Ken Brown and wife Ann of Auburn, Ala.; seven nieces, Dot Bannister of Huntington, W.Va., Jodie Wagner, Thelma Huddleston, both of Logansport, Ind., Marylene Starnes of Buffalo Valley, Sherrill McMahon of New Johnsonville, Carol Logan and husband Derek of Greenville, S.C. and Caren Skinner and husband Mikel of Avera, Ga.

Pallbearers will be Stephen, Ben, Rob, and Mikel Skinner, Lynn Cowan, Dan and James Huddleston, Ken Brown and Derek Logan.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Jones, James Paul, Jim Brown, Keith Usry, Bobby Smith, Glynn Wallace, Gary Rhodes, Algernon Ursy, Charlie Davis, Milford Holdeman and Bennett Howard.

Memorial donations may be made to Waldens UMC Perpetual Care Cemetery Fund, C/O Patricia Kitchens, 1304 Hadden Pond Road, Avera, Ga. 30803.

Revs. Doug Mays and Tom Edwards will officiate the services.
